Education
All of the children at Park contribute to worship
services in many ways, from singing in the choir, to reading the liturgy
to leading prayers. Join
us to have your children experience worship in meaningful ways, to explore
their faith and to serve their community. At Park, kids are an important
part of our worship community. We value their contributions, their questions
and their unquenchable desire to contribute meaningfully in the world.

Nursery Care at Park
We are fortunate to have Julie Rose, an Early Childhood
Educator, as our primary nursery staff. Julie brings a plethora of
creative ideas
to the
nursery with everything from helping the toddlers to shape peanut
butter clay to offering extra hugs to a baby. Julie understands
the developmental
needs of this age group and keeps them all happy and engaged.
Nursery care is available from 9:30 AM through 12:30 PM upstairs
in a dedicated space especially designed for babies through preschoolers.

Sunday School at Park
We offer Sunday School for children from kindergarten
through fifth grade. Every 4 to 6 weeks we begin a new unit during
which we will cover a topic
through music, art, science, drama and storytelling. This
model, known as the Rotation Model, allows our children to experience
the bible stories
through many avenues, allowing them to learn in the manner
that best suits them. Sunday school is an exciting time of hands
on
learning
at its best!
Kindergarten through fifth grade children stay through the
beginning of the worship service. After ‘Words For
Young Worshippers’, a
specially prepared mini-sermon to engage this age group in
the meaning of the day’s message, the children go upstairs
for Sunday School until 11:15 AM.

Junior Youth Fellowship at Park
Our 6th through 8th graders gain experience
and knowledge of the bible through worship discussion circles, through
confirmation
classes, and
through many hands on service experiences around our
community. One avenue the
JYF use to learn about their faith, is to investigate
other religions and compare their history and beliefs to ours.
They keep busy
with
many projects
including making and delivering pies to our parishioners
who can’t
make it to church, making blankets for children at various
local agencies and raising money for local and world
hunger.
JYF meets during Sunday School, for a discussion
circle of the liturgy. They meet after church for confirmation
classes
and
special projects,
fund raising for trips, service activities, etc.

Senior Youth Fellowship at Park
The 9th through 12 grade
kids are an active bunch at Park Church. From making Mother’s
Day Breakfast for all of the Park Church mothers to traveling to Guatemala
to work at the mission in the village of San
Lucas Toliman, these kids keep busy. They have a great
sense of world community and responsibility and we build
on that to encourage them to think about
their place in the world. They explore their faith in
a hands-on way—for
instance, visiting a local hotel for a special service
and learning that, “there
is no room at the inn,” so they held their special
Christmas service by candle light near the dumpster in
back, the only place
the Inn had
space. They fast each year for 30 hours, raising money
for world hunger organizations
and walk the crop walk in October to help fund local
hunger organizations.
SYF meets during Sunday School,
for a discussion circle of the liturgy. They meet after
church for special projects,
fund raising
for their
Guatemala trip, service activities, etc.
