Did you know?
The Park Church supports the Wisner Park Zero Waste Project at Wednesday markets in the park. Patrons of participating food vendors can ask for their meals on reusable plates, silverware, and glasses, which are washed and sanitized in The Park Church kitchen.
The program is an initiative of Southern Tier Reduces, an organization that advocates for zero-waste communities in our region. In addition to the dish program, visitors to Wisner Market can bring their food scraps to the composting bin at the dish return.
Look for the blue tent in the middle of Main Street opposite the Beecher statue.
How can you help?
Ask for your meal on reusable dinnerware if you're eating in the park.
Patronize other venues that offer reusable dinnerware.
Help keep single-use plastics and compostable food out of our landfills!
Volunteer to help at the dish return station between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. or with dishwashing between 2 - 3 p.m.
Contact Emilee Lindner, founder of Southern Tier Reduces, at 585-329-1322 or Southerntierreduces@gmail.com to volunteer.
Watch the video (links to a Facebook Reel) on how to order your lunch at the Wisner Market with real dishes.
