A free choral concert, part of the 2023 Schumann Festival. On the program that day is a double-choir set from Robert Schumann, the premier of a choral arrangement of six lieder by Clara Schumann, The New Love Songs (Neue Liebeslieder) of Johannes Brahms, and the world premier of Clara’s Piano, part of the Story Song Program that tells the story of the great-great grandchildren of Robert and Clara Schumann that have made Chemung County home for nine decades!
The Story Music Project is a collaboration with composer and music-director Will Wickham and the Cantata Singers, in which we present stories of our area in original choral music. Through interviews and historical research we will sing a snapshot of all the people in the Southern Finger Lakes region.The Story Music Project is made possible through a generous Artist Employment Grant administered by Creatives Rebuild New York.
